General Information
Who Can Camp?
Troop leaders should carefully assess the girls in the troop to determine when they are ready for a camp experience and what kind of a camp experience would be most appropriate. Consult the 2010 All Safety Activity Checkpoints for more details about readiness and necessary ratios of supervision. Overnight camp experiences are not recommended for first year Girl Scout Daisies.
Adult (18 years and older) males may participate in troop camp experiences but must be registered Girl Scout members with the troop. Accommodation should be made for separate sleeping, restrooms and showers. There is a space on the reservation form to inform camp staff that a male will be on the property. The other troops on the camp property will be informed that a male is on the property.
Non-Girl Scout children or siblings (also called "Tag-a-Longs") are not permitted on troop camping trips.
Fees and Payments
The unit prices are set based on type of accommodation and unit amenities at each camp facility. The fee for using a unit for an all-day program or staying one night is the same fee. Click here for a camp price list.
When sending in the Troop Camp Reservation Form, send the appropriate amount for the first choice and number of nights your troop plans to stay. The unit fee must be paid in full to reserve a site.
Please note that if a unit is damaged or not cleaned upon departure, the troop will be billed for additional repairs and clean-up.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
- A full refund will be made if a troop cannot be placed into a unit due to lack of availability.
- A full refund will be made if camp is closed by the council due to weather or other emergency situation.
- A full refund will be made if the troop cancels at least four weeks prior to the scheduled camping date. No refund will be given for cancellations received less than four weeks in advance.
Additional Insurance
Troops staying three or more nights must purchase additional Girl Scout insurance. EXCEPTION – on three-day federal holiday weekends this is not required.
All registered Girl Scouts (girls and adults) are covered under the basic Girl Scout insurance. Please make sure that all girls and adults on the camping trip are registered prior to going to camp.
